This is a project of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Winnipeg Region in partnership with the Public Interest Law Centre of Legal Aid Manitoba. Participants of the project recently developed a Photovoice presentation that can be accessed here.
Kaleidoscope: endeavouring creativity is a mental health consumer oriented/initiated art and literary magazine supported by the Canadian Mental Health Association, Winnipeg Region and Manitoba Division. The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) is recruiting the following individuals to complete an anonymous online survey (5-10 minutes). If you choose to complete the survey, you will be eligible to win one of several $20 Gift Cards for Amazon.ca. We are looking for:
- Doctors, Nurses, Psychiatrists, Clinical or Counselling Psychologists, Social Workers, or Allied Health Professionals (e.g., Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Speech Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Pharmacists, etc.)
- Graduate or Professional Students in ANY of the aforementioned disciplines
This survey is part of the Opening Minds Anti-Stigma / Anti-Discrimination Initiative of the MHCC. This short survey asks individuals questions about their attitudes to individuals with mental illness. It is completely anonymous and confidential. This is for the purposes of validating the survey tool and ensuring its reliability. This survey tool will be used to evaluate future programs aimed at health care providers. The Canadian Mental Health Association, Winnipeg Region in partnership with the Public Interest Law Centre of Legal Aid Manitoba have been engaged by the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s (MHCC) Mental Health and the Law Advisory Committee to conduct research related to mental health, human rights, and relevant law, policies, and service standards. One of the Committee’s mandates is to examine Canada’s legal framework as it relates to persons with mental illness, including legislation, regulations, and policies.
