CMHA Manitoba Division – Provincial Eating Disorders Conference.  Setting the Table for Recovery: Providing Practical Tools for Understanding Eating Disorders.  Thursday, June 7th – Evening Reception and Friday, June 8th – Conference.  Key Note Speakers:  JENNI SCHAEFER: Jenni is an internationally known author and speaker who has helped change the face of recovery for eating disorders.  TRACEY GOLD: Tracey publicly battled anorexia as a teen actress. EQUALITY, DIGNITY AND INCLUSION: LEGISLATION THAT ENHANCES HUMAN RIGHTS FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH MENTAL ILLNESS

This is a project of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Winnipeg Region in partnership with the Public Interest Law Centre of Legal Aid Manitoba. Participants of the project recently developed a Photovoice presentation that can be accessed here.

 

Kaleidoscope: endeavouring creativity is a mental health consumer oriented/initiated art and literary magazine supported by the Canadian Mental Health Association, Winnipeg Region and Manitoba Division.  Submissions for the next volume of Kaleidoscope are now being accepted. Click here to access the kaleidoscope Call for Entries poster and Submission Form.

 

The Canadian Mental Health Association, Winnipeg Region Capital Campaign.  The CMHA Winnipeg Region has grown 40% in the last 3 years. Our location on Ellice Avenue served us well for many years however, we're now out of space. The Canadian Mental Health Association, Winnipeg Region in partnership with the Public Interest Law Centre of Legal Aid Manitoba have been engaged by the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s (MHCC) Mental Health and the Law Advisory Committee to conduct research related to mental health, human rights, and relevant law, policies, and service standards.  One of the Committee’s mandates is to examine Canada’s legal framework as it relates to persons with mental illness, including legislation, regulations, and policies.  Click here to read our first quarter report or here to access more information on the project.
